EV Chargers must be used primarily for fueling “Public-Use” EVs.
1) This includes vehicles owned and operated by public or private entities that provide goods or services to the public, such as fleet vehicles used for delivery, transit, and other on-road commercial operations.
2) This excludes chargers primarily utilized to fuel “Personal-Use” EVs commonly placed at business locations for customer or employee charging of commuter vehicles.
This program is recommended for:
Customers who meet eligibility requirements, already have a plan for EV charging installation, and haven’t started construction prior to application.
OR
Customers operating a public-use fleet within federally designated disadvantaged communities, who have a plan to electrify inclusive of EV charging, but who have been unable to execute their transition to EVs due to EV charging cost barriers.
